LIVE HERE, WORK HERE, LEAD HERE!

A Senior Community Assistant is an undergraduate or graduate student that serves as a link between management and residents, as well as the implementation of policies, procedures, sales and regulations. The SCA is responsible for a broad range of functions in the community and supervisor of the CA staff.

The Senior Community Assistant role is one of leadership, trust, and honor and contributes significantly to the personal growth and development of the staff member and his/her peers. The Senior Community Assistant position offers additional opportunities and experiences for effective leadership, supervision, and management (planning, organizing, motivating, controlling, and evaluating).

The Senior Community Assistant is a student member of the staff who works closely with property residents and fellow Community Assistants. As a staff member, he/she will work to build community, maintain communications between management, residents and CAs, and assist in a multitude of administrative tasks. The Senior Community Assistant is responsible for the development of a residential community that enhances the total collegiate experience. These goals may only be accomplished through SCA availability in his/her building and around the community. The majority of the Senior Community Assistant's responsibilities involve direct contact with residents and his/her CAs. Some of the most important SCA responsibilities are to serve as a role model for his/her peer CAs and to be available to all residents living in the community as needed. Basic responsibilities include maintaining communication between Management and the residents and CAs, as well as supporting policies, procedures and regulations.

All SCA appointments are made for the term, and are contingent upon satisfactory performance and compliance with all policies and procedures. Compensation includes a no cost bedroom. SCA candidates must have served as a Community Assistant for at least two semesters prior to applying for the SCA position. Candidates must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative grade point average.
